    The man pictured here is Alphonse Victor, and the boy is believed to be his son. Alphonse was a miner at New Almaden during the Barron and Forbes administration (1848-186's). It is a possibility the Alphonse is the brother of Joe Victor. Although there no firm evidence has yet been found. NOTE: SEE OBJECT ID # 2016.2.144 FOR PHOTO OF JOE VICTOR

    This photo was taken on the Hacienda at New Almaden during the Barron and Forbes Administration (1848- 1860'). The man standing on the left is Joe Victor, a New Almaden miner. The other two men are unidentified at this time. There is a possibility the Alphonse Victor was the brother of Joe, but no firm evidence has been found yet. Alphonse Victor was also a New Almaden miner at the same time as Joe, and their photographs reveal similarities. N...
