This photo was taken on the Hacienda at New Almaden during the Barron and Forbes Administration (1848- 1860'). The man standing on the left is Joe Victor, a New Almaden miner. The other two men are unidentified at this time. There is a possibility the Alphonse Victor was the brother of Joe, but no firm evidence has been found yet. Alphonse Victor was also a New Almaden miner at the same time as Joe, and their photographs reveal similarities. NOTE: SEE OBJECT ID # 2016.2.144 FOR PHOTO OF ALPHONSE VICTOR |
