    One of John William Martin's offspring wanted to be a cowboy which displeased the older man because he intended him to become an English gentleman. According to notes of Daniel at 2000-005-007 the wannabee cowboy shown in this photo would have been John William's son, William. However, according to a separate note on this photo it is William's son John, instead.
