A revision of the manuscript written by Jimmie Schneider entitled "THE GOLD (Some coarse and some fine)"". He may have intended that this be included in his book "Quicksilver: The Complete History of the Santa Clara County's New Almaden Mine:. This manuscript was not included in the book. This manuscript is written as a non-fiction novel describing the founding of the mercury used by the Digger Indians, the complicated ownership matters related to the mine, and the initial production mining. This extensive, historical story stops in 1857. NOTE: See Object ID 2018.2.032 (Old# 1999-013-013) for the first version of this manuscript. |
