Letters and Telegrams To New York Office From June 3, 1901 to Oct. 11, 1904 From Thomas Derby, Superintendent, to David Mahany and A L Bailey, presidents of company. Contains 297 pages of reports. Letters include monthly reports describing what is being done at the mine, how far each section was mined, and in what direction, as well as the quality of ore that was found. Production of mercury is included as well as amount of mercury on hand. Derby also reported various aspects of the business and information about mining ventures in the area. Images of sample reports are included. Report 46 - rumors of mineral oil discovery in Santa Clara Report 60, 62-66 - refers to severe storm and landslides Report 68 - condolences on the death of David Mahany Report 72 - first letter to A. L. Bailey Report 76 - request to being referred to as Superintendent rather than Superintendent, pro tem Report 96 - Capt.
