| Description | This article is about the September 24, 1977 ceremony in New Almaden commemorating Original New Almaden Museum as a Bicentennial Landmark by the California State Historical Resources Commission. Presenters were: Congressman Norman Mineta. Presented a gift of an American flag that flew from the U.S. Capitol. The flag was raised by local Boy Scout Troop #294, escorted by Brownie Group #441, Girl Scouts # 331 and Multi-Level Girl Scouts #368. Jeanne Ryder sang the Nation Anthem. Supervisor Rod Diridon presented the "Heritage 76" plaque. Mardi Gualtieri explained the 1974 Bond Act that enabled restoration of the buildings of the museum. Austen Warburton and Clyde Arbuckle gave historical presentations. Connie Perham introduced a direct decendent of Andre Castillero. |
