Description |
This is a letter to Clyde (Arbuckle?) from Lawrence Bulmore (signature unintelligible) concerning Hacienda cottages No. 12 and 13 being of historic value. Cottage No. 12 was the residence of George Carson from 1883 to his death in 1892. George was the telegraph operator and bookkeeper for the Quicksilver Mining Company, the Hacienda Postmaster and the Wells Fargo agent. Cottage No. 12 is the only brick cottage in the Hacienda Cottage No. 13 was the residence of Robert R. Bulmore from 1878 to 1894. Robert was the Cashier for the Q.M.C., General Agent for Q.M.C. and its Sole Pacific Coast Representative. Cottage No. 13 is an original adobe. Although the two cottages are worthy of preservation, Bulmore questions their HISTORIC VALUE. He conceded to Connie Perham that Cottage No. 1 would be considered historic if a photo of Robert R. Bulmore and his connection to Q.M.C. were displayed in the cottage. |
