Two clippings, one from the San Jose newspaper, the second from an unknown newspaper. "Bound for Manila." Letters from James Carson and W. W. Needham. describing their experiences during the voyage. James Carson was the principal of the Almaden School. "With Dewey's Fleet." Two New Almaden Boys will be Heard From. A letter from a German Resident of San Francisco to his friend, Charles F. O'Brion. May 4, 1898. Mentioned are John Trevorro, a miner at Almaden and his son William Trevorro, who is head machinist on the Olympia.
