TITLE: Will Observe Almaden Day
Almaden day, bringing back memories of the years when Almaden was one of the state's leading mining camps?will be observed next Sunday.
A parade that will start at Twin Creeks at about 11 o'clock, will bring old stage coaches and a long string of cowboys through Almaden about noon, it is announced. Prizes will be awarded for the best floats and costumes, according to James Kelty, general chairman.
There is keen competition between the "hillbillies" and "scissorbills," two groups in the district, to see which can have the best entries in the parade. Last year the line was about a mile long.
This third observance of Almaden day will find a new group participating - the civilian conservation corps which has a camp close by.
