TITLE: Son of Pioneer Mining Family Dies at 78
Death came Thanksgiving Day to Phillip T. Trevarrow, 78, native of New Almaden and member of a pioneer mining family. He died in a Mountain View rest home after a month's illness, and private funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Williams Funeral Chapel here. Interment will be in Oak Hill Memorial Park.
Trevarrow was the son of the late John and Catherine Trevarrow, who came to New Almaden's quicksilver mines from Cornwall, England, in the early days when the mines were at their peak production. Trevarrow spent his youth in New Almaden, and for many years since had been employed as a flagman by the Southern Pacific Co. He leaves a sister, Mrs. Cora T. Bocks, Sunnyvale, and a brother, Frederick Trevarrow, Berkeley.
