ALMADEN, Sept. 2 Featuring examples of various modes of transportation used by early Almaden quicksilver miners, a 2 « mile parade highlighted the first "Oldtimers' Day" celebration here since 1941 yesterday.
More than 3000 long?time residents and friends of this community were on hand for the event. Mrs. John Calceterra was in charge of the Oldtimers' barbecue, attended by hundreds in the rear of the old General Store.
Committee for the celebration consisted of R. M. Bradshaw, chairman; Ed Gadsen, R. McNeil, R. J. Pfeiffer and Willis B. Noethig. Parade judges included Joe McKinnon, Henry Jung, ,Ed Estrade and C. F. Burahlm.
